Easy blowing in all registers. The type needed depends.
Straight Mute: Usually the first mute a trombone player will use. This stonelined mute will create a quieter, more muffled sound.
Cup Mute: Very similar to the straight mute. Mostly used in jazz bands, the cup mute has a darker more subdued tone than the straight mute.
Practice Mute: Practice in an apartment, or warm up before a performance without disturbing anyone.
